KMC Controls Develops Hospitality NetSensor®

28 August 2006 • New Paris, Indiana

Designed with the hospitality market in mind, KMC Controls has developed a networkable digital wall sensor. This NetSensor features an aesthetically familiar operation of temperature control while providing building owners additional energy savings.

The KMD-1162 features a large, LCD display with automatic backlighting for easy viewing and is an ideal sensor to use with a fan coil controller. This NetSensor includes intuitive-to-use setpoint buttons and two mode switches to control heating/cooling change over and fan speed. It automatically changes to setpoint mode when an up or down arrow button is selected and changes back to room temperature display after 10 seconds. It is also equipped with a PC port that provides simple connection to a service tool or PC.

As with other KMC products, this unit incorporates a 10,000 ohm thermistor in order to provide precise and accurate temperatures, resulting in maximum temperature consistency and overall controllability of your system.

John Marshall, Vice President of Sales for KMC noted, “This new NetSensor was designed in response to market demands for a simple, easy-to-use wall sensor in hotel rooms.” He continued, “The simplicity of this design in conjunction with its programmable functions allows for integral operation with hotel reservation systems in order to achieve energy savings during unoccupied times.”

This unit comes standard in light almond, but is also available in white. The KMD-1162 NetSensor is designed for room temperature monitoring and control and is compatible with both the KMDigital and BACnet product families.
